To write your first blog post, head over to your WordPress admin backend, on the left sidebar, click on Posts >> Add New
If this is your first time of creating a post, you should see a screen like the one below. You can click on the X sign to start writing your post.
What you see above is the new WordPress block editor (also known as Gutenberg). It’s very powerful and user friendly.

And in a case where the left sidebar admin menu is missing, just click on the three dots at the top right and uncheck Fullscreen Mode.
Now you should have the left sidebar admin menu panel showing like in the screenshot below:
To add text, you just click and type. Do this the same way you would do when typing your document on Microsoft Word. Press the Enter key to move to another line.
For other content like an image or an embedded YouTube video, you can add new blocks by clicking on the + sign and search for what you want in case you can’t find it at a glance.

Every blog post needs a featured image most of the time. Your featured image usually should relate to the content of your blog post. Below is an example of a featured image
To set up your featured image before publishing your blog post, click on the Document tab and scroll down to Featured Image. Click on it and upload your preferred image. Hit on Set Featured Image when your image has fully been uploaded.
When you are ready to publish your blog post, click on the Publish button (click it a second time to confirm you are ready to publish). This will ensure that your readers see your newly published posts.
1. Common Blocks
These are referred to as the most-used blocks when creating your blog content. They include Heading, List, Paragraph, Image, Audio, Page Break, Gallery, Quote, Video, etc.
These are blocks used for media content embedded on your blog. With Embeds, you can embed content from Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, WordPress, SoundCloud, Spotify, Vimeo, Imgur, Reddit, TitTok, Tumblr, Amazon Kindle and many others.

4. Layout Elements

These blocks are used to add extra content to your blog, Examples include Code, Tables, Verse, etc.
6. Typography Symbols
These are simply the tools that stick around with you when typing. They are the tiny symbols you see at the top of each typing box. They include Bold, Italics, Underline, Alignment, Link, etc.
